Tiny joint you don’t want to pass up – Casatinas
This is a very small place with cheap furniture but the food was very good. They are not open very late so you have to get there early. A few times we planned to have dinner there but they were closed.

My wife, daughter and I recently traveled to Canastota to see family. Prior to the trip we had google area restaurants and menus and Casatin’s Italian Cafe was high on our list as must do. We arrived at 5:00 pm, unload my Mother-in-law and her wheelchair, but were stopped by the hostess before reaching the door. She told us the restaurant was closed for the evening for a private party. We expressed our disappointment, explained how far we had traveled and our anticipation. She said to wait just a minute, went to the kitchen and came back to invite us in. Their private party was scheduled for two hours later and they would accomodate us.
This is some of the best “Old World” Italian cuisine I have ever eaten. Three generations of my wifes family and myself all agreed. We each had a different dish and shared with eachother. The service was impeccable, the servings more than generous, the atmosphere relaxing. Thank you Casatina’s for a great experience.
We arrived about 4:40 pm, had just gotten my grandmother into her wheelchair, and we were greeted in the parking lot by our waitress. She began by apologizing that they were closed for the evening for a private party. My father expressed his sorrow since we flew into NY today and we were looking forward to trying their restaurant. Then she went in and came back out and invited us in. I am so glad she did! This small, family-owned/operated restaurant is worth the price. Loved my meal. The salad, parmesan-crusted bread, Eggplant Napoleon, and carrot cake were exceptional. The portions were robust and our waitress did a great job wrapping up leftovers and was very pleasant when we asked to split the dessert. The eggplant dish was one of the best I’ve had. All family members enjoyed their meals. I highly recommend Casatina’s. We finished before the private party. Tiny joint with big taste – That Taco Place
I drove by this place 100 times before one day I decided to check it out. Was I glad I did. The food is well crafted, fresh, and local. Nice size portions and so fresh, what a difference. Now I stop in once a month at least.

If you start eating here you will keep coming back. The food is delicious and seems healthy and home made. Tiny place with a little seating indoors, and outdoor tables as well. Go here for a good meal. although primarily take out, you will pay as much for a well served meal in a restaurant. Delicious.
That Taco Place has been in business for many years. Their food has maintained the same excellent flavor and quality over the years! Love that they have maintained their own personal style – haven’t tried to grow bigger – and still have the best milkshakes anywhere! My favorite meal is the beef and cheese burrito with an order of chips and a vanilla shake! keeps me full for a very long time! And the price is reasonable! LOVE the drive up service – regardless of the weather, I can get my faves! That Taco Place: Tiny joint with big taste – See 23 traveller reviews, candid photos, and great deals for Batavia, NY, at Tripadvisor. ]]>
