It’s a new age for vaporizers, let’s try it out.
Le Whaf Review- Food Vaporizer
If you thought the Vaportini was a cool idea, check out the Le Whaf . It’s a crazy invention that allows the user to inhale their food, almost like a Willy Wonka Invention. The inventor, David Edwards, could be called just that. His other inventions, the WAHH and the Aeroshot, are also alcoholic devices with a twist that are grabbing the public’s attention. But for now, our attention is on the Le Whaf. The device uses a process called hydrodynamic cavitation to turn your soups and favorite dishes into a fluffy heavier-than-air white cloud of flavor. To save you the trouble of transitioning to Google, I describe it here.
The fluid vaporizes due to the low pressure, forming a cavity. At the edges of the cavity, small amounts of vapor break off. These form smaller cavities 100 nm to 3 mm in diameter. The smaller cavities implode under the high pressure surrounding them. This process of formation and collapse is called cavitation.
Essentially, what this means is that the Le Whaf uses ultrasonic waves to condense the particles of food/beer/soda and then under the pressure , implodes, releasing the taste into a pure white cloud that pours out of the Le Whaf. Obviously The Lab Store has not released the methods behind their patented technology, but it is an interesting concept that could hold possibilities for many others devices in the future.

So what’s so special about the Le Whaf besides the fact that you can inhale your favorite drinks and soups? Well for one, the user consumes almost no calories. You still get the taste of whatever you Le Whaf, but the calories don’t follow. Apparently this special process can also help to curb appetites. Consuming the cloudy taste is described as somewhere between inhaling and drinking, but the creators say the Le Whaf was not designed for the purpose of inebriating the user. Instead, they describe the purpose of the Le Whaf as an experience to taste the rich flavors and the essence of the drink. However, if you fill the Le Whaf full of straight liquor, you can experience a “haze”. I’m not sure if that is their attempt to dilute the expectations of becoming intoxicated through using the Le Whaf, but the only real way is to find out. Unfortunately, that will be a little difficult for any American citizen as the Le Whaf is only sold out of France. No worries, you can still purchase the Le Whaf, but you’re going to have pay a little extra for shipping. Either way, the Le Whaf is a new invention that could open a lot of possibilities in the liquid cuisine department. Stay tuned as I’ll be discovering other alcoholic vaporizers that pry away from normal, because that’s what we like writing about and that’s what you like reading about.
